Week 52/Song 52 - "One Year Old"

Song 52 - "One Year Old"

Whew! I made it! Man, it's hard to believe. I will go into hiatus for a month and return with a new plan to put all these ideas into action. Thank you everyone who contributed to my confidence and encouraged me to push on.

One Year Old - How many is that in song years?

Week 50/Song 50 - "V Days"

Song 50 - "V Days"

Pieces of a Valentine's Day song. As usual, lyrics are needed. Two more to go!

Week 49/Song 49 - "TwoBrothers"

Song 49 - "TwoBrothers"

A pretty solid chorus and not much else. I feel like I repeated something from the previous 48 weeks in the verse, in terms of melody. Maybe not though.

Finally saw Avatar. Engaging.

Week 47/Song 47 - "PYUandPYD"

Song 47 - "PYUandPYD"

The verse and chorus, although rough in this cut, certainly will stick. I need to fix the bridge and put in some words. When all is said and done, this project will be more about song ideas than final pieces. I think that when I reach idea 52, I will start another year long project with the goal of cleaning up 12 of these ideas and making an album. Haven't quite worked out those logistics yet.

Week 45/Song 45 - "one 'n infinity"

Song 45 - "one 'n infinity"

I wrote a plethora of songs this weekend. This happens to be the last one I had time for. My improv skills are really coalescing. I think I'd like to get to the point where I could just make up the lyrics all the time. The ones in this song were entirely spontaneous. I came up with most of the guitar part last night, while watching Choke(highly recommended). If I continue to work on this one, I will repeat the verse and tweak the melody a little bit, but i think it has promise.

May your New Year's resolutions die softly:)
